SITUATION
The customer needed a closure inspection system that could handle a wide variety of colored closures at 120+ closures per minute (CPM), combining 2D, 3D, and pericentric inspection methods in a single line.
SOLUTION
Closure Sorting & Feeding- A bulk hopper feeds an elevator, which delivers closures to a feeder bowl. The feeder bowl orients each closure into the in-feed track for inspection.
Micrometer Inspection- Closures pass under a micrometer inspection station at dial wheel #1. Failed closures are rejected by an air blast into a bulk reject bin.
Pericentric Inspection- Closures pass under a pericentric inspection lens at reject station 1, with failed parts rejected the same way.
2D & 3D Vision Inspection- Closures continue through 2D and 3D inspection stations at reject station 2, catching defects the earlier stations can’t detect.
