Automation Application Engineer

Manual Machinist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Machinist to join our team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Recommend and/or implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and/or efficiency.
  • Setup and operate mills and lathes.
  • Operate drill press, arbor press, bench grinder, automatic surface grinders and saws.
  • Ability to read mechanical part and assembly drawings.
  • Part inspection/quality control.
  • Program conversational programs with ACU-RITE.
  • Ability to setup and run jobs on a vertical CNC mill. (MAZAK experience preferred)

Continuous Improvement:

  • Proactively identify and participate in process improvement activities to promote continuous improvement.
  • Supports other facility related projects and initiatives as assigned.

Standards and Procedures:

  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently and safely meeting federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with federal, state, and local standards.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of work experience required.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry our assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Ability to read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Ability to interpret specifications, schematics, job orders, and company policies and procedures for employees.
  • Ability to inspect materials, products, and/or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Mechanically inclined individual with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and must be organized.
  • Must be familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually up to 50 lbs.
  • Abrasive deburring and tumbling components.

  • Pneumatic assembly
  • Equipment wire routing
  • Equipment installation – mechanical
  • Operates mills and lathes.
  • Operate drill press, arbor press, bench grinder, etc.
  • Equipment service – mechanical
  • Mechanical trouble shooting – debug

Leadership and Employee Development:

  • Assist in the coordination and conduct employee training in equipment operations and work procedures to ensure that all work is performed correctly and efficiently.
  • Assist the department supervisor to coordinate resources to allow for training and continuous work while meeting production requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Proactively identify and participate in process improvement activities to promote continuous improvement.
  • Leads and implements small-scale continuous improvement projects.
  • Supports other facility related projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Working with Documentation Specialists, assists with the development and writing of assembly instructions and new work processes.

Standards and Procedures:

  • Ensure that standard operating procedures and processes are adhered to.
  • Enforce and adhere to all Procedures, Policies and Processes at all times.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Monitor workplace safety and work with others to minimize and eliminate safety risks and obstacles.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
