BSE JOB 1725
The feeder bowl orientates and feeds the boot valves so they are hanging by the small diameter flange at the opposite end of the ring to be removed. The valves are fed directly into a small (4) position star wheel pocket hanging by the small end flange. The indexing star wheel continuously advances at a rate of 50 parts per minute. At the following station, the valve is clamped into the star wheel pocket using a pneumatic actuator. While secured in the star wheel, the lower ring is stripped off as a result of entering a small yoke that engages the valve neck just above the ring and actuates down with a pneumatic actuator. The rings are collected in a waste bin. The boot valve free of ring advances to the next station where it is discharged to a collection bin.
